Cutting boards. Not to freak you out, but they average cutting board has about 200 percent more fecal bacteria than the typical toilet seat, according to Gerba. At the very least, use separate boards for raw meat, say, and salad.

Dish towels. Yes, they start out pretty, but the E. coli and staph bacteria they’ve been linked to are not!.
